VIRPIL Controls production facility in Alytus Northern Industrial Park is an example of contemporary industrial architecture, and was designed for the production of virtual flight simulator equipment. The building reflects the nature of the company’s work through technological precision, engineering logic and a clear connection to aviation.

The 3,135 sq m A++ energy class building is rationally organised around the requirements of its different functions. Production, storage and administrative spaces are separated while remaining connected by efficient circulation routes for employees. The single-volume building accommodates the full range of processes, from design and administration to component manufacturing, assembly lines and logistics.

The restrained dark-grey façades are complemented by a distinctive entrance canopy inspired by the form of an aircraft wing. Glass panels of the administrative spaces create a sense of lightness and openness, while the flat roof with a solar power system reinforces the building’s contemporary, energy-efficient character.

Inside, wood, concrete, metal and glass create a restrained industrial atmosphere. Bright offices, lounge areas and collaborative spaces provide informal working areas. Runway-inspired elements in the corridors reference virtual flight and add a playful touch to the otherwise rigorous industrial interior, transforming it into a distinctive architectural environment designed around the needs of its employees.
