About

“Pastatai kalba”, open architecture weekends in smaller cities of Lithuania, is the project organized by Architektūros fondas. Its main goal is to provide everyone with an opportunity to become more acquainted with architecture, experience and grasp the value of our material surroundings. During such weekends, city buildings that are usually closed to the public will open up.

The project is based on the previous organizing experience of Open House Vilnius.

The main goal of the project is education. We aim to inform members of the public so they would become more aware, critical, curious of their local architecture and to provide them with the means to learn more about architecture in general.

Šiauliai will be the third city to invite city dwellers and guests to visit fifteen of its exclusive buildings. “Pastatai kalba. Šiauliai” will take place on September 24th and 25th, 2022.

Druskininkai will be the next city to open fifteen of its exquisite structures. “Pastatai kalba. Druskininkai” is set to happen in 2023. Every city taking part in the “Pastatai kalba” project, has a different team of organizers. Want to join them in Druskininkai next year? Contact us: labas@pastataikalba.lt.

All events are free of charge and open to everyone.

Project is organized by Architektūros fondas, a voluntary, non-government, non-profit public organization.
